EA was a pioneer in these activities in Spain when the first energy saving plan was launched at the beginning of the 1970s.

Regarding the rational use of energy, we have carried out audits, studies and energy saving projects for different sectors.

In the industrial sector we have carried out audits and energy saving projects in paper, alcohol, ceramics and aluminium industries, and on gasworks and fossil-fired power plants.

We have also audited municipal facilities such as water pumping stations and sewage treatment plants.

In the domestic and services sectors, EA has carried out studies and energy saving projects in banks, universities, railway stations, schools, sports centres, town halls, cultural centres, hotels, etc.

A recent project executed in Bulgaria within the framework of the European Commission Phare Programme resulted in a notable achievement. The philosophy of Energy Management was applied to the buildings, schools, sports centres, etc, of a selected municipality and a series of corrective measures were implemented which led to important savings in energy consumption and an improvement in the living conditions.
